Meet Our Pastor

Pastor Timothy Paroz began here at MTO in September 2022.

He, along with his wife, Kim, live in North Lima. Their daughters attend South Range elementary, and they are excited to be a part of our community.

“My first sense of call to the ministry was during a campus event at what would be my future seminary, Methodist Theological School in Ohio. On the swing sets during a break sitting with a friend I told her this would be my seminary- if I attended seminary. I graduated that spring from The Ohio State University and in the fall left for Turkmenistan as a Peace Corps volunteer. On September 11th 2001 at 10:00 at night, we heard about the events taking place in the United States. I volunteered to pray with anyone who wished to.”

Following the prompting from God, Pastor Tim soon enrolled at that Seminary and would graduate with a Christian Ethics degree in 2005. After sensing a call to Army Chaplaincy, Pastor Tim went back to school and finished an M.Div in 2009. He became a Chaplain on December 10, 2007 and is currently the Command Chaplain for the 310th Sustainment Command (Expeditionary) out of Indianapolis, IN.

“I’m excited to be part of the great history of Mt. Olivet United Church of Christ. I look forward to serving this church family and the wider community into the future.”

Join us for a Sunday worship celebration and meet Pastor Tim.
