Green Slime and more!

Thank you again to everyone that participated in the Wellness Workshop! I want to share the ingredients for the two nutritious, blended drinks from class. In the coming newsletters we’ll be asking for your recipes of healthy options that you’ve discovered and enjoy.

  1. Lovingly nicknamed by one of our Wellness Workshop warriors as the “Green Slime”, this drink contains combinations of kale, spinach, kiwi, orange, pineapple, banana, grapefruit, and pears that are blended. Keep in mind that you can use any fruit you like, what’s important are the leafy greens as part of the recommended five daily servings of fruits and vegetables. It’s also a treat for your taste buds once you find the right yummy combination.

  1. Greek yogurt, pumpkin seed (or w/ other good fiber seeds), dates, peanut butter (optional), almonds, walnuts, strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, and raspberries are mixed and blended. Again, whatever fruit you enjoy, the berries (best frozen) are high in antioxidants that fight disease and cancer.
